ADA S1000ADA S1000 - digital delay This is an old digital delay unit with a max delay of one second. It has some cool features like repeat hold and a flexible delay time/modulation setup that makes it useful for more than just echo-style delays. You set the base delay time with 5 switches (4 ms, 16 ms, 64 ms, 256 ms, and 1024 ms), then use the multiplier knob to vary tune the delay time from 1/8 of the switch setting to the full value. There are also modulation depth & rate knobs. Changing the delay time also modulates the pitch, and if you switch from a long delay time to a short one, then back again, the buffer from the old long delay is still there (until it gets overwritten). These two items make it great for noisy feedback mayhem in a dub-style mixer feedback loop. Speaking of noise, it's pretty noisy itself- which I think adds to the charm for the previously-mentioned application. I've got plenty of plugins to handle clean delays. ADA links: |
